Bio

I am excited to be back in my hometown of Tallassee, Alabama! I grew up here and went to school from K-12th in the Tallassee City School System. My grandfather, Russell Stokes, was a well respected educator in the Tallassee City School System for over 30 years. He is the reason that I became an educator and strive every day to impact students I come into contact with as much as he did.

This will mark my 12th year teaching. I began in regular education teaching second and third grade. However, after earning my Masters degree in Collaborative Teacher K-6 in 2009, I had the opportunity to move to special education. After teaching in a sef-contained multi needs classroom for six years, I had the opportunity to return to Tallassee and teach at Southside during the 2016-2017 school year.

I met my husband Eric when I spent some time as a server at Romano's Macaroni Grill in Montgomery, Alabama. We were married in 2009. I have four children: a stepson Nik (16), Elijah(5), and twins Sam & Mattie (2). We enjoy spending time with family, going to church and to the movies. Although we are a divided household from August to December (Auburn & Alabama), we somehow make it work!
